Squatting
Yes I know they are hard but definitely necessary for building leg strength. Been squatting for a couple weeks now and can feel the progress. The key about it, when it is hard is you gotta build up slowly. For me i started at about 160 and been grinding for 3 weeks. In 3 weeks I have gotten to my own bodyweight which is 175 with 12 weeks left. You just gotta grind and take it slow. If you want to jump higher one part of the equation is hitting the squats.

I just got the Vertical Jump Bible too. I'm not very athletic, so I'm doing the beginner exercises. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a weight room, so I can't do squats with weights. Hopefully, that doesn't prevent me from making progress. That's awesome that you're up to 25 inches. How tall are you? What's your standing reach?

I think the beginners would work good too if you just starting if you claim that you are not very athletic the body weight squats should be just as good though. I am about 6'3 my reach is 15.
